One of the best techniques that can be used to combat side effects associated with the ADHD treatment medication that your child is on is to encourage them to take the medication with food. Not only will this combat side effects like an upset stomach and a headache, but it could prevent other side effects from occurring as well.

For children that suffer from sleep issues, be sure that a schedule is put into place and that they are encouraged to wind down or relax several hours before bedtime. It is also important to consider giving the medication early in the day so that it does not result in the child staying awake. If you take these steps, you will soon find that the side effects of the ADHD treatment medication that your child is on are not as severe.
